Terms of service

Last updated: October 19, 2026

These terms cover purchases from Salish Studios and use of our website at salishstudios.com. “We,” “us,” and “our” mean Salish Studios; “you” means the customer or website visitor.

Please read these terms before ordering. When you place an order, you agree to the terms presented to you at checkout. Our Shipping Policy and Returns and Refund Policy also describe your purchase. Our Privacy Policy explains how personal information is handled.

1. Ordering from Salish Studios

You must be legally able to enter into a purchase agreement and authorized to use the payment method you provide. Please give us accurate contact, payment and delivery information, and check your edition, year, tide station, color, size, frame and quantity before ordering.

Your order confirmation records the items and charges submitted through checkout. We may decline or cancel an order if an item is unavailable, the delivery address is unsupported, payment cannot be verified, we reasonably suspect fraud, or a material listing or pricing error prevents us from fulfilling the order as shown. We will explain the issue and promptly refund any payment for canceled items, including associated tax and shipping charges. We will not substitute a product or charge a higher price without your agreement.

2. Prices and payment

Product prices, shipping charges and applicable taxes are shown before you pay. Shipping and tax are additional unless expressly included in the offer. Prices may change for future purchases; a later price change does not change an existing order.

Our checkout is hosted by Shopify, and payments are handled through the payment services offered there. Salish Studios remains your seller and your contact for order questions. Payment is required before an order is released for printing.

3. Products and previews

Our calendars and posters are made to order. Product pages describe the selected edition and available options. Screen settings, lighting and the printing process can cause modest differences between an on-screen preview and the finished item. These differences do not excuse a damaged, defective or materially misdescribed product.

Calendar photography represents the wider region. The tide predictions apply to the named station and year shown on the product, rather than every place pictured or included in an edition’s regional name.

4. Custom editions and proof approval

Saving a design or submitting a review request does not place an order or take payment. A builder preview labeled as sample data is a layout illustration, not the final tide chart for your chosen location. New locations, photography and unsupported options require review before we can confirm availability.

Before printing a custom edition, we require approval of its final proof and payment for the agreed order. Please check the title, spelling, year, station, photographs, layout and selected options. Your approval applies to that version. Changes after approval may require another proof and a revised price or delivery estimate, which we will present for your agreement before proceeding.

Proof approval does not waive your rights if the delivered item differs from the approved proof, is defective, or fails to meet a description or legal requirement for which we are responsible.

5. Material you provide

If we agree to use your photographs, text or other material, you must own it or have the permissions needed for us and our production partners to use it for your order, including any required permissions from people depicted. Please do not submit unlawful material or material that infringes another person’s rights.

You keep ownership of your material. You give us permission to copy, format and share it with the service providers needed to review, prepare, print and fulfill your order and resolve related support issues. This permission does not authorize us to use your material in advertising or public portfolios; we would seek separate permission for that. Personal information is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.

6. Printing, shipping and delays

We use Lulu for calendars and Printful for posters. Available destinations, shipping charges and delivery estimates are described in our Shipping Policy and at checkout. Calendars and posters are fulfilled separately, so a mixed order may arrive in separate packages with separate tracking information.

Delivery estimates include the production and transit periods described for your order. Custom-order estimates also depend on completion of the proof and approval steps disclosed before purchase. Estimates are not guaranteed arrival dates, but they do not remove our obligations if we cannot ship on time.

If we cannot ship within the time stated for your order, we will notify you, provide a revised shipment date if available, and explain your option to agree to the delay or cancel the unshipped items for a prompt refund, including associated tax and shipping charges. We will obtain consent to a delay when required by law. If we cannot fulfill the order, we will cancel it and promptly refund the affected charges.

If a shipment is missing, damaged or marked delivered but cannot be found, contact us so we can investigate with the printer and carrier. We remain your contact for resolving the order.

7. Changes, cancellations and returns

Because each item is made to order, we do not accept change-of-mind returns or exchanges. If you need to change or cancel an order, contact us as soon as possible. Changes and cancellations cannot be guaranteed once production has begun. This restriction does not limit cancellation or refund rights required by law, including rights relating to shipping delays.

If an item arrives damaged, defective or incorrect, email support@salishstudios.com with your order number, a description of the issue, and photographs of the item and packaging where available. We will review the issue and arrange a replacement or refund as appropriate. If photographs are not available, contact us for help. Our Returns and Refund Policy provides further details; neither that policy nor these terms limits remedies you are entitled to by law.

8. Using tide information

Our printed tide charts are for general reference. They show predicted water heights for a particular station and year, not live observations. Weather and local conditions can cause actual water levels to differ. Predictions at one station may not describe conditions at a nearby beach or harbor.

Water height and tidal current are different. These products do not forecast current speed, current direction or slack water. They are not navigation charts or a substitute for current official tide information, marine forecasts, navigational information or an assessment of local conditions. Check current information from NOAA Tides & Currents and other appropriate authorities before activities on or near the water.

9. Website and artwork

Our original layouts, branding, text and other protected website content belong to Salish Studios or their respective rights holders. Licensed photographs remain the property of their rights holders. Buying a printed product does not transfer copyright or permission to reproduce the artwork or photographs. This does not restrict rights you already have under law or claim ownership of public-domain tide data or material you own.

You may browse the site, share links and keep copies of your own order records and proofs for personal review. Do not interfere with the website, introduce malicious code, attempt unauthorized access, impersonate another person or use the service for fraud. We may restrict access to prevent abuse or security problems without removing our obligations concerning an existing order.

10. Privacy and communications

We use the contact details you provide to communicate about your inquiries, proofs, orders, delivery and support. Ordering does not by itself sign you up for marketing messages. Our Privacy Policy describes data handling and available privacy choices. These terms do not replace any consent required for marketing or tracking.

11. Your rights and resolving concerns

We are responsible for supplying products that meet their agreed description and for the obligations imposed on us by applicable law. Nothing in these terms excludes warranties, liability or consumer remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.

If you have a concern, contact us at support@salishstudios.com so we can try to resolve it. Contacting us is not a condition of exercising your legal rights. These terms do not require binding arbitration or waive your right to bring an individual or collective claim where the law permits.

Washington law governs these terms, subject to applicable federal law and any mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live. Nothing here requires you to give up a court or other remedy available under those protections.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms for future use of the website and future orders and will display the updated date when we do. The terms and purchase policies provided when you placed an order continue to apply to that order unless you agree to a change or the law requires otherwise. A later update does not retroactively reduce your rights.

If a provision cannot be enforced, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
